Dottie Bhe and Paul Radcliffe got married last week at beautiful San Francisco City Hall, with an elegant dinner at Boulette’s Larder in the Ferry Building afterward. I told her that her new name (if she chooses to change it) would sound like a New England WASP who drinks gin & tonics at lunch and plays tennis. She says she thinks it sounds like a Clue character.
I loved every detail of their day. One of the defining characteristics about Dottie is that she knows exactly what she wants, and doesn’t believe in doing unnecessary things just because others do it. Everything about their wedding day was intimate and perfect, and only included the absolute closest people in their lives. I loved how she put her budget toward things that mattered to her- an amazing gourmet dinner, a beautiful dress, and making things comfortable for the day. It ended up being relaxed and full of happiness. I was so touched to see how Paul looks at her and takes care of her. These two have a long history and a lot of love and respect, that’s easy to see.

Dottie and I met in art class in the 9th grade and were very close in high school and part of college. We lost touch over the years but have known what each other was up to thanks to the powers of Facebook. It was so special and meaningful for me to document her wedding because of our history, and I couldn’t have been more in love with every detail they picked out.
